Big news from my new life (and studio): In 2016 I’ll be making more art (and less jewelry).
As I continue to evolve as an artist, I find that painting and mixed media are taking up more of my mental real estate, so I’m going to devote more time to them.
The jewelry that I will take time to make in the new year will be more of the unique styles (jellyfish, framed pieces, the Closer Look line, etc.) and less like the simple drill and add a pinch bail. Why? Because the unique styles are more artistic, they take more time, and speak to my soul. Anyone can drill some glass and add a pre-made bail, but listening to the glass (or stone) and designing a piece that is perfect for it is more challenging and much more rewarding.
